It’s important to have big goals that you will achieve over time, but creating smaller, micro goals is even more motivational. Those small goals are what keeps you going and allows you to enjoy the journey. Put together a list with your #1 goal at the top, followed by a bunch of smaller goals below. For example – Big Goal: lose 15-20 lbs. Smaller goals: work out 5 times each week; do a sugar detox; replace all the junk food in your cabinets with healthy nutritious snacks. Every time you achieve one, don’t forget to celebrate!

Instagram is awesome for funny memes and cute puppy photos, but it’s even better for some major motivation! One of the best things you can do to feel constant motivation is to create your own LSF fitness Instagram account (ex. @jenny.lsf). This will be your place to share daily photos of your progress and anything that inspires you, plus it makes it really easy to make some new friends (See Tip #1!).

The scale can only tell you so much, so taking “before” photos are the absolute best way to track your progress and watch your body change. On days you feel like giving up, looking at that photo will give you the motivation you need to push through. Put your pictures side by side (left side “before, right side “now”) and use the hashtag #LSFprogress to share on Insta!

Besides taking before and after photos, you should also keep track of other things like your run times, your lifts, and of course your weight if you’re attempting to change it. Seeing how your numbers improve over time is a huge motivator and helps to keep you from burning out!
