Healthy tips for eating at restaurants.

Ever been in this situation? You’re feeling amazing about your fitness and health progress, and your girls want to go out for the night. You actually WANT to get dressed up to go out for once! You show up to the restaurant, feeling cute AF, and then you see the menu. All of it involves some form of rice, corn, bread — all the stuff you’ve been working hard to limit in favor of healthy grains and greens! WHAT SHOULD YOU EAT!? You start to panic. Don’t worry. I have so many healthy tips for eating at restaurants. I got you, girl.

How to eat out at restaurants without derailing your goals

I’ve been there one million times. It is so hard to navigate a social life and pick the right meal at restaurants when you are trying to be healthy.

Don’t panic!

live guiltless

The first thing you need to hear is this: Guilt/Anxiety is not. the. way. we. win. Because that’s not life at its best any more than eating processed junk and watching TV all day. Life is meant to be enjoyed! #LiveGuiltless

So before you do anything else, take a deep breath. Remember that NO meal (no matter how many french fries) can totally undo your progress! You are making healthy choices to feel your best, not to be skinny. So pick the food that helps you do that, even at  restaurants.

Eat out without freaking out

Don’t worry – there are easy things you can do to make eating out painless! But I know it’s still hard.

Recently, Ryan and I challenged each other to eat at popular chain restaurants for an entire day! We even made a vlog about it ??I know that a lot of you don’t live close to really healthy dining options, so we tried to pick some of the most popular fast food spots. It was really hard, but it IS possible to make healthier choices, no matter what types of restaurants you have access to.

Rule #1, because so many people that thinking getting a salad is the best choice, but at fast food restaurants some have just as many calories as a hamburger. Also most salads are more than one serving.

Love the last tip. Has to be my favourite. Life’s too short. It’s meant for living. A slice of cake or having one meal at McDonalds isn’t going to kill us and I love how you drill it in that it wont derail our progress cuz it can’t..not from one meal.

You’re right about saying that I should go guiltless when I’m eating outside. I think I’ll go for chicken wings since they’re my favorite food. It might be a good idea to check out restaurants that serve chicken wings for dinner so I can eat out at night.

This is really nice and I can relate so much. and I know eating healthy its like restricting your wants. But sometimes you need to enjoy life, means enjoy your food, the flavor and texture of it. I’m not saying that stop eating healthy. I just want to say. Its good to be balanced sometimes.
