3 Ways To Practice Self Care

Okay ladies, let's all do ourselves a favor and set some time aside for self-care and make yourself a priority

Different Types of Self Care

Even though self-care has become a buzzword in the health industry, when it is used in a way to serve your best-self it has the power to transform your life.

Let's all stop thinking that self-care is selfish. Because it's not! It's small, significant actions that prove that you are worth your own care. There are so many different ways that we can all take care of our mental, emotional, and physical health. Let's take a look at a few.

Fuel Your Mind and Body

Start to rewire your brain to think of the food you eat as fuel for your body because that's what it is! Pay attention to how certain foods affect your mood, energy, and motivation. Then start to incorporate more of what makes you feel great. Seriously, consuming what makes you feel your best is the ultimate form of self-care.

Take Time to Decompress & Connect With Yourself

Setting time aside to relax whether it be a visit to the spa, reading a book, going on a walk, taking a digital break, writing in your journal, or whatever works for you to give you time to reflect. Being able to decompress is caring for yourself in the present to help benefit yourself in the future.

One of my favorite ways to practice self-care is by putting my phone down, finding a sunny spot by the water, and just being. It sounds so simple and it is! I mean, a cocktail can also make it way more relaxing, but either way, having that time – ALONE – in gorgeous scenery to rest and soak up all the feels is incredible.

Find a Healthy Stress Reliever That Works for You

It is so important to find a healthy way to help you de-stress. It's inevitable that we will all experience stress in our lives, but finding a healthy way to cope with stress makes all the difference. Some of the best ways to de-stress? Try exercising, yoga, meditation, hiking, or anything else that gets you moving and you have fun doing! It's important to realize that your self-care is personal to you and what works for someone else might not work for you.

If you have LSF the App, you'll get a little of everything. The solid workout and bonus sweats are there to help you de-stress and sweat it out, but I also put a big focus on self-care and journaling because I know how important it is. You can't truly have a well-rounded healthy lifestyle without both.

If you workout every day and don't take time to reflect on how it is making you feel mentally, it's a waste of your time. Hit pause next time you get in a good sweat sesh and really evaluate how your mood is post-workout

So, while we all want hard rock abs and lean muscles, self-care helps us all get connected to taking care of ourselves instead of forcing ourselves to fit into a size 2 jeans. It's time to let go of self-sabotaging behavior and embrace self-care to enhance your mental and physical health.

Seriously, if we aren't going to take the time to care for ourselves, how can we effectively care for others or expect them to care for us.
