Aspen. For the last 6 years Ryan and I have spent Valentine's Day in San Francisco. He went to school there, it's only an hour flight and super romantic.

Last year we decided to switch things up and headed out to Aspenfor a quick weekend. I'm usually way more of a beach girl, but we loved it and knew it would be a new Vday tradition! This year we had 3 full days in Aspen and it was even more magical than before.

Where to Stay

We stayed at The Little Nellwhich is absolutely adorbs. It's a 5 star hotel right in the heart of the town (which is only like 4 square blocks) and has ski on – ski off access to Aspen Mountain. Our room was a standard mountain view room, but a standard room here is like a suite at most other hotels. It had a fireplace, dinning area, balcony and seriously the comfiest beds.

There was also a GIANT bathroom with a huge tub, shower and two vanities. It was amazing to be able to do my makeup and hair in my own space! At home we share a small bathroom so I usually end up doing my makeup on the floor in my studio. That was all great, but if you saw my IG story while we were there you'd know the real highlight was the pump soap?Ryan was real happy that he didn't have to use bar soap to wash his hands…It's the little things in life right?

Where to Play

Aspen Snowmassis the best. There are four mountains you can ride that all have a little something different. My favorite is Aspen Highlands– mostly because of Cloud 9 which is basically a party on the mountain. We hit that up day one and I totally got my mountain legs back. The second day we went to Aspen mountainsince it was literally a step outside the door of our hotel and I loved it. It was my first time boarding there and the runs are super long and really fun.Until I got too confident, started turbo-ing down the mountain and fell on my booty?

Again, I'm a beach girl, so I can only last so long actually snowboarding. Ryan has been riding his whole life and is amazing. He's so sweet and always wants to help me, but I feel like I slow him down. I usually end up heading down early to give him time to ride solo. And I'm perfectly happy cozied up with s'mores and some champs watching him crush it on the mountain.

The Little Nell Aprés Skis so hard and they have two of my favorite restaurants Element 47and Ajax Tavern .I LOVE seafood and I'm telling you Element 47 has the best lobster I've had in my life. EVER! I died.

There is also a super fun bar Chair 9 that has a DJ in the afternoons. We headed there after boarding to watch the opening ceremony of the olympics and it was so fun!

There was something special about being in a snow town, surrounded by avid snow sport people (I'm sure there is a better descriptor for this?) watching the best of the best from around the world competing for gold

There literally isn't anything I would have done differently about this trip – except maybe falling and bruising my tailbone but…

My Aspen Musts

• Stay at The Little Nell– I'll never stay anywhere else in Aspen now. #spoiled
• Get lift tickets ahead of time Aspen Snowmassand save some $$$ + you get to go to any of the 4 mountains
• Grab the best almond milk latte ever at the Australian espresso and wine bar VICTORIA+co
• Go to White House Tavernfor lunch the day you arrive- the Macho Salad is everything. Don't forget to hit Ajax Tavernfor drinks + lunch after hitting Aspen Mountain.
• For dinner's Element 47 is a must for a delicious fancy night out. We also loved Meat & Cheeseas well as Grey Ladyfor seafood!
• Cloud 9is 100% a must do/see. Get a reservation ahead of time for the 2pm lunch and get ready to be like…

When you ski up to Cloud 9 you'll think it's just a nice restaurant on the mountain, which it is, but bottles start poppin' and the jams get cranked up in the afternoon and it's just one of those thing you have to see to believe. You just need to go.

After such an incredible trip we're thinking about going back during the summer. Everyone says it's amazing and there are so many activities to do. Do you have a favorite winter or summer destination? Where is it??
