48 Hours in Miami
Tropical beach vacations are kinda my thing which makes it crazy that until recently I hadn’t been to Miami. I’ve been dying to go to the Bahamas so we decided to spend the weekend in Miami before hopping down there. We had 48 hours. Just enough time to get a taste and add it to our “must go back” list.
We flew in on a Friday with enough time check-in to our hotel, freshen up and head out. We stayed at Shore Club which was right in South Beach and close to everything.
The Delano was on our must-go list for drinks and dinner and it was gorgeous. I got the roasted kabocha squash salad, sounds basic, but it was magic and I’ve recreated it at home like 5 times.
After dinner we went to checkout a bar called Basement downstairs in the Edition Hotel. It’s not a regular bar though, there is an tiny ICE SKATING RINK inside of it!!! Obviously we rented skates and got down on it.
Day two was PACKED! We got up early, did the HBSG workout on the sand and headed to the Wynwood Walls. OMG it’s such a cool spot. It’s kinda in a rundown area, but when you get to where the walls are it’s incredible. So many of you gave us fun spots to checkout on Instagram like Panther coffee and it was so good! If you 💓 coffee, it’s a Miami must.
After coffee we headed to the harbor to meet up with my girls from Bikini Diaries for their launch party. They’re the cutest and just started a super fun, super girl blog you should checkout if your love for bikinis runs deep like mine.
Finally we wrapped the night with dinner and drinks at the most incredible Italian restaurant, Via Emilia 9 . Hands-down the best REAL Italian food i’ve had outside of Italu. Not kidding, it is legit. We let them chose our meal and wine pairings and had about 5 courses of “shut the front door” deliciousness. I’ve never been so full and so happy.
Our last day we planned on keeping it mellow, buuuuut…. we’re the Dunlops and we don’t do mellow very well. We were invited to Sunday brunch at Nikki Beach and it was epic. I’ve been to a lot of brunches and I thought our experience in Mykonos took brunch next level, but it doesn’t even begin to compare to the Nikki Beach brunch.
There were about 10 different sections set up with every type of food you could imagine. From more traditional brunch fare like omelets and waffles to an entire seafood paella set up and everything in between. Not to mention the drinks, live music, dancers and beach vibes that give you a full Miami experience in one spot.
All of that was awesome, but the best part? The now named “LSF mobile!” Look at this thing!? It’s amazing and I’m trying to get Ryan to figure out how to make me one! It’s necessary…
We definitely got a good taste for Miami, but 48 hours wasn’t quite enough. We just got back from another epic weekend there so I’m going to have to update you on that trips soon too!
