This year Cinco de Mayo is on a Tuesday which means Taco Tuesday just got a little better(as if it could be any better!). I used to go crazy and eat baskets (yep…that's plural) of chips and down one or four margs…but those days are in the past! Throughout my transformation I learned many things, one of whichwas how terrible margaritas and chips are for your body. Loaded with sugar and empty calories. You know I'm all about balance, but making a healthy swap is easier than you think. Instead of going out this year, invite over your bestie and try my healthier versions of these traditional drinks! Get ready to ditch the margs for good and fall in love with my LSF skinny Cinco de Mayo drinks!

SKINNY CINCO DE MAYO COCKTAILS RECIPE

Ingredients

La Paloma


A Paloma is a local favorite in Mexico on a hot day. It's traditionally made with grapefruit soda, but I am putting a fresh spin on it. My version cuts calories and reduces the sugar. Plus, by using fresh grapefruit juice you get the added benefits of vitamin cup and potassium along with tons of other vitamins and minerals.

  • 2 ounces Blanco Tequila
  • 6 ounces Fresh squeezed grapefruit juice
  • 1/2 ounce Lime juice
  • 1/4 — 1/2 cup Sparkling mineral water

Tequila Lime Spritzer


I love margaritas, but they can ruin all the hard work you put in at the gym far too quickly. Did you know that a standard margarita has about 600 calories? YIKES! It's just not worth it. This spritzer is a perfect way to get the flavor you love without all the extra stuff.

  • 2 ounces Tequila
  • 1/4 cup Fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 1 tbsp. Raw Honey
  • Fill remaining glass with Sparkling mineral water

**If you like a little spice, muddle a tsp. of jalapeno, chopped, into your drink!

Pomegranate Lime Mocktail


If you haven't quite hit 21, or you're on one of those "I'm never drinking again" kicks, this is the drink for you. It's a perfect balance of sweet and tart and packed full of antioxidants!

  • 1 tbsp. Fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 1/4 cup Pomegranate juice (100% no sugar added)
  • Fill remaining glass with Sparkling mineral water

Option to add 2oz. tequila
