Cabo travel tips. Cabo is hands-down my favorite spot for an LSF getaway!
This is the second year we've headed down to Cabo for an early Bday celebration. Now it's an official tradition!
Ryan and I decided to start doing videos of our adventures, so here is the first of many! Now we just have to figure out how to get Ryan IN them

I'm used to going to Cabo in fall when it's super hot, but it's great weather in March too! Low 80's during the day and cools down at night.Hence the great "pineapple sweater debate" on Instagram
Goal for this trip: Stay fit while traveling & live it up without gaining a pound!
The Key is to find resorts that have:
Incredible fresh food
A gym or space with view to get my sweat on
Watch the tortilla chips
Stick to #lsfapprovedskinny Margs (tequila + soda water + lime) & some champs. No sugary mixed cocktails = guilt free vacay
Days 1-3 | The Cape
We spent the first 3 nights at one of our favorite spots, The Cape .
We've been coming to Cabo for years, but last year was our first time staying here and we fell in love immediately. It's a gorgeous boutique hotel, which I love 'cause it has a great vibe and no crazy crowds (or kids! Sorry… not sorry)
The Cape is few minutes outside of main town Cabo and seriously has the BEST views of the Arch!It also doesn't hurt that you get welcome Tequila in your room! Like an entire bottle!Dangerous & awesome!
The Surfer Villa is a 3 bedroom suit that would be AMAZING to get with friends sometime. How gorge is this private pool!?
The resort already feels super private, but we spent a day hanging here and it was perfection. Private pool – Fresh Coconuts – Champs & the Hubs
We spent a solid 20 minutes trying to perfect this pool hair flip and avoid whiplashhaha! Definitely got a good core workout though. No clue what I'll do with it, but how gorgeous is this shot?!
What I Ate
It's vacation, but it's not a vacation from my health or my goals. I definitelyindulged, but I still applied the Hot Body Meal Plan as much as possible. No matter what I was eating, I made sure to find the right balance of fats, proteins and carbs 90% of the time. Then I made sure I worked out enough for that other 10% (aka chips + tequila).
My Faves
Ceviche all day! I got some poolside on our first day with a tequila soda – it was everything. It had a little kick, but I obviously asked for extra spicy! OMG it was amazing. Fresh, limey (not sure if that's a real word, but today it is) and delish!
If you're getting breakfast, make sure you try the Crab Benedict & Amaranth pancakes!!
The chefs at The Cape are on point. Seriously can't go wrong with anything on the menus.
Best part? The Veuve Cart !!
Ryan and I have a few favorite restaurant spots in Town as well: Los Tres Gallos, Bar Esquina & Toro. Every year without fail these three are a MUST.
My Workouts
I was following week 7 of the HBSG and adding in a little extra cardio each day to help burn off those skinny margs ! The hotel gym is on the water with floor to ceiling glass windows. You can't be mad about working out or trying to stay fit on vacation here!
Marquis Los Cabos Resort & Spa | Days 4-5
We always stay in the same area of Cabo, andI love that we have our go-to's, but we were ready to explore this time!
For our last two nights we headed to Marquis Los Cabos . How gorgeous is this place? They had me with this view and watermelon juice welcome drinks.Anyone who makes fresh watermelon juice for cocktails is a winner in my book.
It's crazy how different the beaches are throughout Cabo. Where we normally stay they are nice, but similar to our beaches at home.A little less tropical feeling.
These beaches at Marquis though… 100% the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen down there.
Crystal blue water and clean, white, sandy beaches – YES PLEASE!
Eats
It's an all-inclusive resort which I know can mean trouble, but only if you let it! Yes- it's easy to overdo it on junk food, but it's just as easy to order fresh healthy foods like fish, veggie crudité, salads, sushi, etc. There areALWAYS options and the Marquis Los Cabos had plenty of them.
Simple Swap: instead of downing my ceviche with a basket of chips, I would grab 5 and then eat the rest with a fork. #balance
If you read my How to Lose Weight on Vacation blog you know that staying fit while you travel is 100% a choice. You can chose to make healthy decisions to keep the balance or chose to sabotage all the hard work you've been putting in.
Not having to leave the hotel made everything really easy. We could just relax and work poolside during the day, order food there and then roll into dinner whenever we felt like it.
Sweat
I made sure to get my workouts in first thing in the morning so I could relax. I'd do 3 rounds of the Hot Body Sweat Guide workouts and a little bonus cardio 'cause margaritas.
I admittedly didn't do ANY of them, but the resort had so many activities throughout the day. Volleyball, beach walks, yoga, corn hole etc. Great way to help people burn off some of those drinks without even realizing it!
There was also a HUGE spa (like massages, nails, hair, everything) and gym with all the equipment you could ever want. I was kinda surprised, but the gym was packed! Good on you Cabo vacationers! We worked out in there one day, then hit the sand for some sunshine and sweat the next.
Our Last Day
On our last day we packed up and headed to the airport but made a special stop first!
I've been wanting to visit Flora Farm s for years and it finally happened! It's in San Jose del Cabo and a bit of a drive which is why we hadn't gone before. That said, I am going back every trip no matter what!
It may be the most magical place on earth. I grew up with my parents gardening, we even had chickens (they still do) in the middle of suburb San Diego, so I love that country feel.
Now being so healthy conscious, I am always on the lookout for restaurants that offer organic, farm-to-table style foods and they nail it.
Flora Farms is several acres of land filled with every flower, tree, fruit or vegetable you could imagine. It's a fully self-sustainable farm with a restaurant, incredible bar, fresh market(with ice cream made from their own cows milk!), and an adorable animals running around.
Guys- you know ILOVE food! I enjoy eating it, cooking it, growing it, talking about it, I just love it. You can literally taste the quality in fresh gown foods.
Ryan and I got about 5 different things to try and literally ate every single bite. Definitely waaaaaaaay more than we planned, butSO GOOD!
I obviously had to try the fresh ice cream,I'm a vanilla girl btw, and it was next level. I'm sure part of it was the fact it's been forever since I've had ice cream, but 99% of it was they just make freakin' amazing stuff!
Everything about Flora Farms is just special. Ryan and I are already looking at flights for a quick weekend down again this summer so we can go back!
I feel like after so many years of the same, I just experienced a brand new Cabo and LOVED it!
Until next time…
