Weekend Getaway Essentials | What You Need In Your Bag

Getaway essentials. I normally spend the night before traveling frantically throwing everything I can possibly think of into a million bags.

For some reason I do great when I'm leaving for a week or more, but the quick weekend getaways are SO tough for me to pack! Now that I've been traveling a lot more, my old style of "packing" just isn't cutting it.

To keep my sanity and excess spending in check, I realized it was time to get organized. I'm heading out to Palm Springs today for Splash House and will be snapping all weekend, so make sure you add me {LoveSweatAndFit}. No time like the present to start working on my packing skills. Finally figuring out my weekend getaway essentials and what Iactuallyneed in my bag.

PackingPlan:

♥ 1 Bag ONLY! And my purse… but that doesn't count

♥ I wrote down everything I could possiblyneedfor the weekend

♥ Crossed off 1/2 of that list

♥ Got ready to pack myREALessentials

My Bag

The most important part is finding the right bag. I have an entire storage tub full of random brags I've bought, tried, hated and buried in the depths of my closet R.I.P.

My latest find is the Vooraywhich is clearly made for a weekend getaway. I shared their Burner Sport bag in my last What's in My Gym Bagvlog on YouTube, LOVED it, so obviously I had to try this bag too! Think It's time to finally ditch all those other ones. This is perfect!

I have a thing with pockets. Love them in playsuits and rompers, hate them in bags. Too many at least. Most of my old bags either have so many pockets I end up playing hide and seek with my stuffor toofewpockets that everything is loose in the bottom. Stop me if you know this feeling…

This bag has 2 smaller pockets on the outside, 2 larger ones on the inside, 1 exterior Wet/Dry gear pocket (perfect for wet swimsuits!) and a loose laundry bag so you can keep the smelly stuff separate. Perf!

Getting Down to Business

Skincare

The most important things I pack, after my medication, are my skincare products.Side note: definitely working on a blog to share more about dealing with hypothyroidism.

A fresh face is the best. If you read my winter skincareblog you know I have SUPER dry sensitive skin. I'm always trying to findnew products that make my face happy, but it's hard to play test bunny on your face.

I shared my facial at Kate Somerville in Beverly Hills a few weeks ago on SnapChat and it was so awesome!First facial that didn't make me break out after!Holla! I've been using a bunch of their products for about a month now and couldn't love it more.

Make-Up

I never wear a full face of makeup to the pool or beach, but it's nice to do a few quick things to protect your skin and feel ready for a selfie!

I always use a CC cream with SPF as a base. Then I throw on a little Benefit Erase Paste to brighten under the eyes and get rid of any dark circles from the champs the night before. I love a bronzer with shimmer for a beachy glow and blush for my cheeks.

I usually go withouteye liner, eye shadows, foundation etc. but I never go without blush. My friend Emily Loftisssaid it best "Blush makes you look alive!"

Last I'll throw on a bit of waterproof mascara and I'm good to go!

For the Pool

I love bikinis like I love shoes. A lot! My "bikini drawer" is currently overflowing and I'm on the hunt for a better way to organize them. Not so easy.

Since I'll be pooling it for 3 days during this trip, I'm bringing 1 bikini for each day plus a bonus one. Just incase I change my mind on which to wear or need it for a late night jacuzzi dip! Most of my suits are from PilyQor BeachBunnyThey just fit my body right.

I've been asked a million times on snap chat about my matte black Tory Burch sunglassesso I found them for you girls! They are everything.

I love to snap so a portable charger is a MUST! I seriously have to charge my phone about 3 times a day.

Last few things I always want in my bag are a big old hat, face mist to stay cool, polaroid camera for when your phone and charger die and wipes + perfume to freshen up for after pool drinks!

Since I Have to Wear Clothes Too…

Less is more. I've been known to bring entire bags (yes that's plural) of shoes. For this weekend I'm bringing a pair of wedges, sandals and my Nike's. That's it! Well… at least that's the plan.

I'm planning my outfits ahead and not brining my usual 3-5 extraoptions. Keeping it simple friends.

Rompers are the best thing ever created for obvious reasons. It's an entire outfit in one, less to pack and makes it way easier to get ready. Check‚àö Check‚àö Check‚àö

I'mteaching a pre-festival yoga bootcamp Saturday so I'll need some workout gear, but luckily it's about 110 degrees out there so I can pack light.

I've started rolling all my clothes which made it WAY easier to fit everything into one bag for sure! Bring on the Champs!

Leave it to me to use every inch of this bag! Found the perfect use for that side pocket … official bottle holder! I've been all about ONEHOPE Winesbecause every bottle gives back!

All their wines have a percentage of sales that goes to different charities and the Brut Sparkling helps provide meals to children in need. Cheers to that! If you're going to drink the bubbles, might as well make it count!
