Nighttime skincare routine. I've been working on a full out skin care blog for you guys, but want to share my newest nighttime skincare routine addition first.
Living in SoCal I spend a lot of time in the sun, which is amazing, but also can cause serious damage to your skin. The right skincare products are KEY. Olayasked me try their Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream a few weeks ago and I'm LOVING it. It's definitely made it to my top skincare tips.
I wish there was just one product that could take on the seasonal and hormonal changes our bodies deal with, but there just isn't. I change up my routine throughout the year depending on what my skin is doing, but I always have a few that stick around.
Since I can remember my mom has talked about how important it is to take care of my face. "You only get one so treat it well." I've been using anti-aging creams at night for years to help prevent wrinkles and keep my skin looking fresh and hydrated.
For the last few years I've been buying CRAZY expensive creams to help, but it's honestly so hard to ever tell if they're working. I usually just cross my fingers and hope for the best as I gently rub it on…in small circles in an upward motion… gotta get that lift wherever you can!
My Nighttime Skincare Routine
Olay Micro-Sculpting Regenerist Creamcan be used at night and in the morning, but I stick to just at nighttime and use a SPF moisturizer during the day.
Even when I mix up my product brands I always stick to the same routine to prep before bed.
- Before bed I wash my face with a gentle exfoliator.
- Next I use a cotton ball and miceller water to get any extra gunk off.
- Then I'll use a rose or jojoba oil as the first layer of moisture.
- I've been using a dime size amount of Olay Regeneristall over my face and hands! You're hands show aging just as much as your face so don't forget about them.
- Finally I take a pea sized drop of eye cream and gently dab it under my eye and on my eyelids.
Why I like Olay
You guys know by now I have dry skin –sorry broken record, but it's real dry!I am constantly trying new products because A- most don't work and B- my skin gets used to them and then they stop working. I've been lovin' Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream because it actually works! It doesn't justfeellike it's moisturizing and then just sit on the surface. It really makes my skin feel supple and dewy.
I started noticing my laugh lines and corners of my eyes feeling dry and getting a few more lines than I'd like.I know lines are NORMAL, but the longer I can keep them smooth the better! The biggest change was truly the moisture and fullness I felt back in my face.
I tell you girls to take progress photos when doing the Hot Body Sweat Guide & Meal Plans, so I did it for my face. Same rules apply…tThe only REAL way to see what is actually changing is to capture it in a photo, a mirror will always be deceiving.
Even though I've only used it a couple of weeks there is definitely a difference in my skin. Honestly the best part is that it's insanely hydrating (check!) and totally affordable (about $26.99 online, double check!).
Other Reasons It's Awesome…
The Good Housekeeping Institute Beauty Lab has conducted TONS of studies where scientists collected more than 10,000 hydration measurements and Olay beat out some brands that cost over $400.
WHAT?!? People seriously pay that for a moisturizer? I mean I know we only get one face, but that's craziness.
FAST-ACTING: After three hours, the Olay will moisturize 400% better than creams nearly 18 times more expensive.
LONG-LASTING HYDRATION: It will increase hydration about 50% over a 24-hour period.
LIGHTWEIGHT TEXTURE: It's rich and creamy without feeling heavy on your skin
FIRMING & PLUMPING INGREDIENTS: It has awesome clean ingredients like carob seed extract, vitamin E, amino-peptide and vitamin B5. Plus niacinamide and hyaluronic acid that can help improve your skin's texture by 10% in four weeks.
It's seriously an awesome product and at a reasonable price. Even if I could, I would NEVER spend hundreds of dollars on a face cream when there are products like this that do the job as well or even better!
It's never too early to start working to prevent annoying fine lines and wrinklesbabes. Your skin rejuvenates cells like nobody's business while you sleep so having a good nighttime skincare routine is essential to having healthy glowing skin.
Let me know what you guys want to see in my full skincare routine blog… thinking I should do a vlog for YouTube too!
